🕊️ In Loving Memory of Joshua Daniel Avila Sr.
January 25, 1983 – August 9, 2025
Joshua Daniel Avila Sr. went to be with his lord and savior on 08-09-25. He was born on 01-25-83 in Denver Colorado to his parents Richard Avila Jr. and Valerie Maes.
Joshua thrived as an electrician, a craft he deeply respected and mastered with pride. He found joy not only in the work itself, but especially working alongside his big brother Richard and his son Joshy, sharing knowledge, laughter, and a bond that ran deeper than wires and circuits.
He was preceded in death by his father Richard Avila Jr., grandparents Richard and Inez Avila, Joseph and Sadie Maes, his stepfather Craig Williams, and his brother Isaac Williams.
Joshua is survived by his mother Valerie Maes, the mother of his children Belen Cabrera, and his beloved children Adriane Rodriguez, Joshua D. Avila Jr., Jaya D. Avila, and Jaelee D. Avila, each a living testament to his faith, strength and unconditional love.
He is also survived by his siblings: Rose Avila, Rochelle Avila, Richard (Nicole) Avila, Richette Avila, Danny (Nina) Avila, Carolina Herrera, Timothy (Alexas) Williams, Titus Williams, Angelica (Mike) Williams-Johnson, Ines Diaz, Lydia Williams, Ezekiel Williams, and Eva Williams, as well as his god-sister Selena Silvas. Each of them carries a piece of Joshua’s warrior spirit, his laughter and his love.
He will be deeply missed by his wide circle of nieces, nephews, aunties, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Joshua had a creative soul, he enjoyed drawing, dancing, listening to music and dressing to the nines like his grandma Sadie. He loved cheering for his team the Las Vegas Raiders and driving his Broncos loving family crazy.
But above all, Joshua was a man of deliverance and battle, a warrior of faith who walked through shadowed valleys and scaled mountaintops with Jesus by his side every step of the way. His journey was not without struggle, but he held fast to God’s sweet grace, forgiveness and unfailing love. His battle is over, his faith fulfilled and he is now home with Jesus cradled in the palms of the Savior’s hands, where peace flows like a river and joy knows no end.
Your love and support mean the world to us during this difficult time. For those who wish to offer a gesture, the family would appreciate optional contributions to assist with the funeral service costs. Your presence is the most meaningful expression of support, and we are grateful for your thoughts and prayers.
